There are lots of contenders for ‘prettiest block in Brooklyn.’ South Oxford Street in Fort Greene springs to mind, for its elegant Italianate brownstones. The block I live on, Dean Street between Bond and Nevins in Boerum Hill, ain’t bad either, in its 1850s brickfront uniformity.
But I was awestruck last spring when I stumbled upon Fuller Place in Windsor Terrace, a long double-sided row of small 1920s(?) houses with columned front porches and terracotta tile roofs. It didn’t hurt that it was rhododendron season and many houses had huge shrubs in bloom. Anyone else care to suggest a candidate for Brooklyn’s loveliest block?
