The Snows of Turkey Hill

HERE’S SOMETHING YOU DON’T SEE in Brooklyn…

And despite our latest impressive 19 inches of snow, we haven’t seen much of this either…

Nor even, I’m glad to say, this:

These pictures were sent to me by my wasband, who is living (cheerfully) through winter’s icy grip in the Northern Dutchess cottage, below.

Go here to see how the same place looks in milder weather.

LOOKS LIKE A LLAMA TO ME….WHAT IT IS DOING IN DUCHESS COUNTY???

  2. Jo says:

Wasband is like 1000% better than saying THE X.

    Great pics!

  3. cara says:

The llama is the next door neighbors’ pet…along with four fancy sheep of some sort. Yeah, Jo, ‘my ex’ has kind of a cold ring to it;-)

  4. csh says:

Yes, LOVE love love “wasband”! Now please find the equivalent for ex-wife, as I hate when people say it.

  5. cara says:

I can’t take credit for “wasband.” It’s in the Wiktionary as dating back to 1990, and it looks like there’s a movie called “Wasband” coming out this year, with nobody we ever heard of. As for the ex-wife equivalent, I wish I was more clever, wordplay-wise. Anyone…?

Got something to say? Please say it!
